New Conan movie moves ahead without Arnold?

An Arnold-less "Conan the Barbarian" remake? Well considering he's busy with politics it's a good possibility. Right now filmmaker Boaz Yakin (Director of "Remember the Titans" and writer of "From Dusk Til Dawn 2) is planning on creating a new Conan film that is stand-alone from the two Swartzeneger versions, and this time trying to stay closer to the story of the original Robert E Howard written novels. Will this mean he will from now on be known as "Conan the Cimmerian" (Given his original title)? Uncertain. Will this revisioning include Arnold? My guess is likely not. Yakin is set to write and possibly direct the remake for Warner Brothers, and production is likely to be scheduled early 2007. No news on possible casting as of yet.

"Conan" tells the story of a wandering warrior who would conquer foes (and women) as a thief, pirate and mercenary until finally seizing the throne of a kingdom. Arnold Swartzeneger starred as the muscle-bound fighting machine in the original film and it's sequel.
