Eminem in a Modern Day Western?

Sure Eminem can act when he's practically playing himself in the film "8-Mile", but how about when you put a gun in his hand? Rapper jokes aside, the musical artist is set to take the leading role in a contemporary re-make of the Richard Boone TV series "Have Gun - Will Travel".  The original series surrounds a civil-war veteran named Paladin who travels the west answering the call of anyone who would respond to his business card. Paladin was not only a master gunman, but an intelligent scholar who would often quote Shakespeare amongst others.

 

Eminem's version would see him playing a present day Bounty Hunter, presumably using similar bussiness cards, rapier wit, and the name Paladin. Though I do find the idea of Eminem playing someone named Paladin rather ironic. It seems like a publicity stunt, but if the film has to be made I hope they keep to the gritty feel of "8-mile". Last thing we need is another cheesey TV-show remake. Especially not one starring Eminem.
