Devon Aoki Becomes Part of The Mutant Chronicles

The growing cast of director Simon Hunter's "The Mutant Chronicles" already includes Thomas Jane ("The Punisher" and "Deep Blue Sea"), John Malkovich ("Being John Malkovich" and "Shadow of the Vampire"), Ron Perlman ("Hellboy" and "Blade II"), and Stephen Rea ("Interview with the Vampire" and "V for Vendetta"). Now, it claims an exciting new female cast member, model/actress Devon Aoki, who previously appeared in "2 Fast 2 Furious" and is in the upcoming "DOA: Dead or Alive" movie. Most recognizably, however, she played Miho in Frank Miller's "Sin City," the cult smash and brilliantly translated comic-to-movie adaptation.

The role Aoki plays in "The Mutant Chronicles" sounds appropriate given her part of the sexy street assassin in "Sin City." IGN provided this description of her character, Duval: "a sexy, scarred and fearless fighter with a wild streak who puts her duties as a soldier ahead of her role as the mother of two small children." As MoviesOnline has reported already, the story is that of a demon uprising against humans, the mortal fighting against the underworld mutants being led by Jane’s Major Mitch Hunter. I’ve never played the board game upon which this film is based, but the foundation they’re building upon shows potential. Now, all the filmmakers need to do is live up to it in some capacity.
