The Tick Season One on DVD August 29th

Finnally, after years of petitions and begging, Buena Vista Home Entertainment is finally releasing (the aptly named) "The Tick: The Belated 10th Anniversary Edition" to DVD this August. By far one of my favorite cartoon series ever to aire, "The Tick" was a work of comical genius that was destined to a very short lifespan (3 seasons). Despite the cartoon ending, the concept was still so popular that it was restarted as a live action series in 2001 starring Patrick Warburton (though it still could not stand up to the hilarity of the cartoon). That series did not make it past the first season, but is also available on DVD.

The Tick is the large blue protector of The City (That's the city's actual name if you didn't know). As mighty as he is mental, The Tick stands for justice and tight fitting costumes. Joined by his sidekick, accountant turned Moth-Man, Arthur and a slew of other "colorful" heros such as Sewer Urchin, American Maid, and Die Fledermaus, The Tick is ready to do battle with the forces of evil. No matter how big, gross, or stupid they come. "Spoon!"

The only upset is that the DVD comes with 12 episodes while the season actually contained 13. The episode "The Tick vs The Mole Men" will not be included for what I believe to be copyright reasons. Though in my mind the episode was not among my favorite, so it will not be missed for long. There is no information on any bonus features as of yet.
