Bruckheimer's Gamer Movie.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has recently bought the rights to a script written by Tom Ropelewski and Evan Katz. As with most of Brukheimer's movies it is an action flick.

"Game Boys" will follow the adventures of two thirty-something gamers who claim the high scores on a very popular video game. But when the game's creatures somehow make it to the real world the government calls on these two vidiots to save the day.

Yes. I know what you are thinking. Coupled with the fact that Bruckheimer has bought the script for Disney, the film already sounds bad. I'm not quite sure who they are going to be marketing this film for. Currently it sounds like something meant to baby-sit children and teens at the movie theaters. But if the main characters are indeed going to be thirty-something (and therefore alienate themselves from the kid demographic), I'm expecting nothing less than a PG-13 "Men in Black" style comedy. It's not going to be "good" either way, but at least the latter has a chance at being entertaining.

Bruckheimer has had his share of hits and misses. Thought he is known for producing the great "Pirates of the Caribbean" film for Disney, he also has his name on the awful "Kangaroo Jack". He does however put a lot of money into his films; so expect some great special effects and star-power regardless of the end result. Bruckheimer also has on his slate the announced "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" adaption. He is also currently still on the lookout for a good script for a movie based on the popular RIFTS roleplaying game from Paladium books.
