Some Like it Hot on 2-Disc Collector’s Edition DVD July 18

MGM Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the 1959 comedy Some Like it Hot on 2-Disc Collector’s Edition DVD July 18.  From the Oscar®-winning Director and Writer, Billy Wilder (The Apartment, Sabrina), and his Academy Award®-winning co-writer I.A.L. Diamond (The Apartment, Avanti!), Some Like it Hot follows the journey of two musicians who witness a mob hit and then flee the state disguised as women in an all female band.  Available on 2-Disc Collector’s Edition DVD for an SRP of $24.96, Some Like it Hot features a legendary comedic cast including Marilyn Monroe (The Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), Tony Curtis (Spartacus, Sex and the Single Girl), Jack Lemmon (The Odd Couple, The Apartment) and George Raft (Ocean’s Eleven, Around the World in Eighty Days).  The film won the 1959 Academy Award® for Best Costume Design and was nominated for five other awards including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction and Best Writing. Two struggling musicians (Curtis & Lemmon) witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and try to find a way out of the city before they are found and killed by the mob. The only job that will pay their way is an all-girl band so the two dress up as women. In addition to hiding, each has his own problem; one falls for another band member (Monroe) but can’t tell her his gender, and the other has a rich suitor who will not take “No� for an answer.
