Jon Favreau talks Iron Man

Iron Man Movie Poster Click for Fullsize ImageThe word has already gotten out that director Jon Favreau ("Zathura") is helming the "Iron Man" movie adaption. Many people believe that Favreau was a good choice, but the question still remains just how loyal will the movie be to it's origins. Well as luck would have it the folks at iF Magazine were able to ask Favreau those very questions in an exclusive interview. I think most will be happy to hear this from Favreau's mouth.
"This is Marvel’s first movie that they are showing their fans how they would do it if they could.  Now they have all the marbles and it’s their deal and I want to make sure I satisfy them and their fan base, as well as Paramount who will be distributing the film, and the people who know nothing about IRON MAN and just want to see it.  I think there is a way to thread that needle and I am looking forward to doing it, and I certainly have a tremendous amount of support from the people that hired me to do it."
The interview also touches on how Favreau will deal with the origin of Iron Man (Seeing how it's the first movie), his preferred choice of villains, and his vision for the art direction. It's a very well done interview and it has honestly given me less to worry about. Hollywood has done a great job with it's recent comic-book adaptions, but there have been a few misses as well (Fantastic Four, Electra). I'm hoping that Favreau lives up to his word. The fans are counting on him.
