Clash of the Titans Re-make Gets Scribe

Warner Bros. still has their heart set on a remake of 1981 Mythology epic "Clash of the Titans".
Currently they have hired new writer Travis Beacham to scribe the script. No director or cast have been hinted at, as I'm sure the studio wouldn't want to put this delicate recreation out too quickly.
 
The original is a classic among fans and seems almost a shame to let it be re-made. It would be the last film that Ray Harryhausen would utilize his unique stop-motion special-effects techniques. The story surrounded the greek myth of Perseus who would have to perform many dangerous deeds on his quest to save the Princess Andromeda from being sacrificed to the Kraken, a giant sea monster. The visual effects were stunning as Ray Harryhousen would manage to pit man against monster in a time before CGI.  
 
If you have never seen the original, and have some time, I highly recommend it.
