Taking Lives Movie ReviewPosted by:Taking lives, just finished watching it. I bought the directors cut and found it to be a great movie. I would give it an easy 8/10. Before getting to much further in i want to do two things. One toss a pic from the love scene that Angelina Jolie is in and two give you the general jist of this movie. Yes, im luring you in :)
A top FBI profiler, Special Agent Illeana Scott (Jolie) doesn’t rely on traditional crime-solving techniques to unravel the mysteries of a murderous mind. Her intuitive, unconventional approach often makes the crucial difference between catching a killer and sending a dead-end case to the cold file. As the pressure mounts to catch the elusive murderer, Agent Scott’s unorthodox methods alienate her from a territorial police team that feels threatened by her uncanny abilities. Her seemingly cold demeanor belies an unparalleled passion for her work, and she’s at her best when she’s working alone. But when an unexpected attraction sparks a complicated romantic entanglement, the consummate specialist begins to doubt her finely-honed instincts. Alone in an unfamiliar city with no one she can trust, Agent Scott suddenly finds herself on a twisted and terrifying journey, surrounded by suspects in a case that has become chillingly personal.
I knew what was going to happen within the first 40minutes, which is why the ending made me grin since it was a bit un-expected.
Oh and I should add that their is a scene about half way through where Angelina Jolie gets jiggy with it with Ethan Hawke, and although it was played up alot in the directors cut promo pieces, dont bother. Great scene, hot looking lady, was a definite token booty shot to add a needed thrust in the interest in a slow movie point. So overall this movie is predictable for those of you like me who watch at least 5 or 6 movies a week, but it also had a nice twist in the end. It also had a pretty descent amount of gore during an elevator scene that would get our horror fans excited. With it all said and done its a good 8/10 and well worth the dvd rental.
