Superman Returns Full Trailer Coming To TheatersPosted by: JerricaThe full trailer for "Superman Returns" will be playing before two big releases in the next two weeks. May 3rd brings the trailer to "Mission: Impossible III" audiences, and the following week on May 12th, the trailer will precede "Poseidon." Warner Brothers has the full trailer clocked at just under 2 1/2 minutes. And, for those of you who prefer to see movies on the digital screen, the trailer will be available in digital format for those showings.
This extended trailer comes a little more than a month and a half before the movie's release, which has been an absurdly long time coming. The teaser only gave brief glimpses, but was loaded with exciting imagery. Many of the scenes shown were from the origins story that is being revisited with many apparent influences from the original "Superman" movie. And, the music for the teaser was from John Ottman's reprise of the original John William's score composed for the 1978 film.
Only one thing is certain and it's this; the full trailer will garner the kind of fanboy and fangirl attention that will just create more anxiety about the film. No matter what new scenes or bits of story we get to see, there will be a bunch of fans going wild over it, some raving, some ranting, and some doing both. And, there will be plenty of time to do so until "Superman Returns" opens on June 30th in theaters including IMAX and IMAX 3D.
Update: Dan from soundtrack.net was kind enough to write in and let us know that part of our report is incorrect. The music used in the teaser is just from the original 1978 film, composed and conducted by John Williams. John Ottman hadn't recorded any music at the time of the teaser's release. We thank Dan for taking the time to share his knowledge with us and set the record straight!
