Robin Williams as the Joker?

Rumor has it that funny man Robin Williams is hoping to be cast as The Joker in the sequel to "Batman Begins". I think that the thought of Williams as the joker scares me but not in a good way. I respect him as an actor and credit him for several dozens of movies that his roles helped me enjoy. But I think that to keep with the great re-envisioning that "Begins" gave us they need to continue to cast more intense dramatic actors for villains such as Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson. Williams has proven to be very capable of suspense in recent films, but I do not want to see this Batman series degrade into the star-studded circus that was "Batman and Robin".

 

Currently you can catch Williams in the upcoming "R.V" about a father who tries to reconnect his family by dragging them along for a camping trip in the Rockies. I was not expecting a slap-stick comedy from Williams so quickly after his recent delve into more serious roles. I hope it works out for him.
