Sean Connery to Retire.

From James Bond to Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez ("Highlander"), Sean Connery's list of memorable movie characters is expansive and awe-inspiring. This is why we will all be sorry to see the 76 year old actor off as he plans to announce his retirement at the American Film Institute later this year. Connery will also be recieving his Lifetime Achievment Aware at the Institute, which of course has been well earned.

"I have retired for good," says Connery, "It's been a bit rough since Christmas but I'm perfectly OK and I feel well. In fact, I'm working on a History Book".

The actor required surgery in January to remove a kidney tumor. His future plans right now include writing a few books and enjoying his retirement. This will of course shed a little extra bad news as far as the next Indiana Jones film is concerened, as Connery may be unwilling to return as Indy's father Henry Jones. Harrison Ford is apparently campaigning to convince Connery otherwise.
