Diamond Dead Funding Lost

According to the official Diamond Dead website, they have lost a large portion of their funding from their UK investors.  Apparently the UK investors had said that they would pull funding unless the filming was completed before April 5th (end of the UK tax year).  The main reason for the cut is George Romero is currently working on his other project, Land of the Dead. 

It's unfortunate news for the Diamond Dead project, but apparently they have about 50-75% of their funding still intact and they are hoping to get those UK investors interested again once George is ready to resume work on the project.  Here is what Andrew Gaty (producer of Diamond Dead) had to say:

In some respects it was unfortunate for our financing that George had to do Land of the Dead before Diamond Dead, but he had little choice. If I were George, probably I would have done the same. That’s how it goes in this crazy business. But we will never give up.

Great to hear that Diamond Dead is still a reality, as it sounds like a terrific spin on the zombie movie as we know it!
