Tomaselli's The Ocean is DelayedPosted by: SteveDante Tomaselli's upcoming horror flick, The Ocean, seems to be all dried up for right now. It seems, while in Puerto Rico, his main investor actually had no funds. The film is stuck in limbo. "I felt like dying," Tomaselli said on the Guts and Glory forum. "Anyhow, now I'm better and I'm in talks with other producers to finance THE OCEAN. Something should break any day now." It's good to hear that the project won't be dead in the water. I know my puns are getting really bad. The cast for the deadly ocean film is quite impressively made up of Margot Kidder, aka Lois Lane from Superman, Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Judith O'Dea (Night of the Living Dead), Tom Atkins (Halloween 3) and cameos from Ellen Sandsweiss (The Evil Dead), Edwin Neal (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Lynn Lowry (The Crazies). The Ocean would be Dante's fourth feature film. His past works include Desecration, Horror, and Satan's Playground.
Felissa Rose plays a religious woman haunted by the drowning deaths of her husband and son. She inherits a mansion overlooking the crashing surf. It’s a dreamy, disturbing horror film with chills galore. Dante emailed us to tell us this about the movie
"I'm setting THE OCEAN in The Bermuda Triangle, which is known for its mysterious and bizarre disappearances. I've decided I want to shoot it in Puerto Rico in an area where the waves are consistently big. The Bermuda Triangle or the "Devil's Triangle" is one of the few places on earth where a magnetic compass literally spins out of control. I've always been fascinated and chilled-to-the-bone by those paranoid 70's documentaries on the supernatural abyss. I'm taking that sense of wonder and fear and applying it to the film.
