Joss Whedon the future of X-Men 3?

Joss Whedon has showed some interest in directing the next X-Men film. Whedon says that nothing has been offered to him for "X3," but if offered, he would LOVE to do the third film. Right now he is currently writing Astonishing X-Men the comic for Marvel. So this would be a logical choice for him to direct.

Whedon has also said he would like to do a Buffy movie but he knows that Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz are not intersted. He is currently directing Serenity based off of his television seires Firefly.
