Casino Royal - Mads Mikkelsen is Le Chiffre

According to Variety, director Martin Campbell confirmed on Wednesday that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen ("Wilbur wants to Kill Himself", "King Arthur") will play the villain Le Chiffre in the upcoming James Bond movie "Casino Royal". Still there is no confirmation about the new Bond girl, but Campbell said that the choice is now down to "two or three" and added "you'll just have to wait to find out."

It also was revealed that the audience will see more insight into M's (Judy Dench) back story than ever before, with a scene set in her London apartment, constructed in modernist beige by Barrandov, complete with Asian art and Tanqueray gin cocktail service. Also James Bond himself will show his more sensitive side, said Campbell, in that the film, based on the first of Ian Fleming's Bond books, reveals how he became "the Bond we all know and love."

Sounds great for me, now just bring on a hot Bond girl and let the show begin. "Casino Royal" is Martin Campbell's second time as helmer of a James Bond film. In 1995 he directed the hit "Goldeneye" which introduced Pierce Brosnan to the role of 007 with great success. "Goldeneye" was one of the biggest smash hits for the Bond franchise. Maybe "Casino Royal" will be as successful. Time will tell. The film comes to cinemas November 17th.
