New Friday the 13th a Remake ?Posted by: MacReadyAs reported earlier, New Line Cinema is working on a new "Friday the 13th" movie which is scheduled to be released October 13th, 2006. But now Sean S. Cunningham, writer and director of the 1980 movie, told our colleagues from Fango that it won't be a prequel. According to the interview the new movie will be a remake to his original film. "Friday the 13th" is widely acclaimed for its horrifying and creative murder sequences.
The well known character of Jason Voorhees only had a small part in the film, but New Line Cinema's Remake is said to substantially expand on his character and backstory. At this point Cunningham is not involved, although New Line is interested in working with the acclaimed director. To read the complete article visit Fango right here.
