Waiting Unrated & Raw DVD ReviewPosted by: Michael I am so tired of people telling me a movie is funny and the hype that comes with movies. Especially comedies. FINALLY a movie that is funny, well written and kicks more ass then a wookie fight in an ewok hut! I give you.... Rob McKittricks WAITING. His writing/directorial debut in the mainstream and let me tell you.. it rocks. If you worked in a restaurant, and if you worked in a shit hole like TACO BELL like I did then this movie is so for you. If you didnt work in a restaurant and want to know what we did to people's food who messed with us, watch this movie. Better thought maybe you shouldnt. In all seriousness this movie is just pure gold. Worth every penny. It just feelds good saying that since I have not been able to say that in oh so long. Waiting is a hilarious comedy about frustrated waiters, stingy tippers and dicey food, Lions Gate Films' "Waiting" stars Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long and Anna Faris as young employees battling boredom at Shenanigan's, a generic chain restaurant. A waiter for four years since high school, Dean (Justin Long) has never questioned his job at Shenanigan's. But when he learns that Chett, a high school classmate, now has a lucrative career in electrical engineering, he's thrown into turmoil about his dead-end life. Dean's friend Monty (Ryan Renolds) is in exactly the same boat, but he couldn't care less. More concerned with partying and getting laid by underage girls, Monty is put in charge of training Mitch (John Francis Daley), a shy new employee. Over the course of one chaotic shift, Mitch gets to know the rest of Shenanigan's quirky staff: Monty's tough-talking ex-girlfriend, Serena (Anna Faris), Shenanigan's over-zealous manager, Dan (David Koechner), and head cook Raddimus (Luis Guzman), who's obsessed with a senseless staff-wide competition known only as "The Game". Featuring stoned busboys, unsanitary kitchen antics, and lots of talk about sex, "Waiting" is a hysterical, behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant industry, and an affectionate ode to those lost, and thoroughly unproductive, days of youth. Ryan Reynolds is reason enough to see this movie since his comedic timing is impecible and combine that with the writing of Rob McKittrick and you have yourself one great flick. This is the first movie in a year that has literally had me busting in tears with laughter. Let me give you two famous lines that will have you laughing your ass off "the cock and balls game" and finally... "my penis is only for show now". If you love comedies with great writing and timing and dont see WAITING then you are a fool. If you worked in a fast food restaurant and want to re-live the moment then even if you HATE comedies, watch this!
