New Friday the 13th coming Friday 13th

Well who would have thought that? Everyone i know would have bet that the next movie featuring Jason Voorhees would be a sequel to the very successful "Freddy Vs. Jason". But according to Variety the next film with the Hockeymask wearing killer will be a prequel to "Friday the 13th". Like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" the movie will focus on the origin of Jason Voorhees.

And because releasing movies on a specific date is very fashionable, New Line is planning to release the movie on the 13th of October 2006, which of course is a friday. At the moment no director or cast has been announced, but be sure to check back because we will keep you updated.
