Monterey media has also aligned with a coalition of nationally known organizations including: Children’s Cancer Research Fund, International Association of Butterfly Exhibitions, KIDS FIRST!® Film and Video Festival, Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America and the National Brain Tumor Foundation. Media Bay Productions, monterey media, and the producers of "The Blue Butterfly" recognize the commitment of these outstanding organizations and hope to raise public awareness of the vitally important services they provide. This alliance will create awareness via multi-tiered national outreach and marketing campaigns. Media Bay Productions will be hosting several screenings in the Seattle area using its unique portable movie theater Sidewalk Cinema. Using a state-of-the-art HD projection and sound system, Sidewalk Cinema will be able to screen "The Blue Butterfly" just about anywhere including theaters, halls, churches and coffee houses. "The only way to catch a miracle is to believe in it"… The Blue Butterfly tells the story of a terminally ill 10-year-old boy whose dream is to catch the most beautiful butterfly on Earth, the mythic and elusive Blue Morpho. His mother persuades a renowned entomologist (William Hurt) to take them on a trip to the jungle to search for the butterfly, leading to an adventure that will transform their lives. This heartwarming tale of a young boy (who recently celebrated his twenty-fourth birthday) and a man who chase a dream and whose lives are forever changed was inspired by a true story. A journey of courage, redemption, and love. Scott Mansfield, CEO and Managing Partner of monterey media inc., shares a unique part of their marketing plan, "The Blue Butterfly is a film that’s more than entertainment, it’s a film of dreams becoming reality, of modern day miracles. Our alignment with these wonderful organizations enables us to assist others in pursuing their dreams. In addition, monterey media will make a contribution to the charities." A compelling adventure filmed in the rain forests of Costa Rica and in Montreal, "The Blue Butterfly" is an extraordinary journey. monterey acquired "The Blue Butterfly" through PorchLight Entertainment from the original producers. The film was the Official Selection of (among others) the Tribeca Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, Giffoni Film Festival, Chicago International Children's Film Festival and the Orinda Film Festival. DVD release is scheduled for Spring 2006 on the monterey video label.
