Eric Bana recently told NewsDay that their is NO plans to do a sequl for The Hulk and that nobody is talking about it. Well news flash Eric they are talking about it and have been planning it for a VERY long time. Marvels Vice Chairman Peter Cuneo was very clear to that fact. Marvels Vice Chairman, Peter Cuneo, had an interview with the Motley Fool Radio Team and he revealed a couple of things about some upcoming Marvel projects. Here is a clip from the interview.
Well, I don't agree with you that The Hulk was disappointing or Punisher. The Hulk did $250 million worldwide box, which is a huge box, and as you may recall, we had tremendous success with our toy line, which was a complete sellout, over $100 million worldwide.
Our licensing was also very, very strong, and we had a complete sell-through of all of the consumer products associated with Hulk. So from our point of view, while some people may have been predicting higher box office, we were very thrilled with Hulk, and Hulk 2 is currently being worked on. That is the ultimate test for success or failure. If films make money, then there will be sequels. So Hulk 2 is being worked on now by Universal.
I absolutely think HULK sucked, and was such a great character that was totally massacred on the big screen. I hated Eric Bana in the role and perhaps so did Marvel and maybe they are reworking it and going to do it right this time. So Eric may be telling Newsday NO to Hulk 2 happening, but we are going with Marvel who say it is happening.
