Tom Hanks Next Star Trek Captain?

While reading Sci-Fi Heaven.net I was blown away by a new trek rumor that is just totally untrue if you ask me. The word is or should I say the RUMOR is that Tom Hanks will be the next captain in a Star Trek Movie.

I am a trek fan, or at least a fan of the good trek movies and shows. Tom Hanks would add alot to the Trek world in a new movie but I just dont see an actor like Tom Hanks wanting to jump into the trek world where actors dont get anywhere near the respect they deserve because its "sci-fi". Star Trek XI - The Beginning is being put together by Paramount and this rumor my friends if true is a big one. What do you think? Share your thoughts on our Star Trek Captain Discussion
