Now that Rent is coming this holiday week to cinemas across the nation, you may be wondering if it's worth the trip! The Broadway play was a smash hit and has become a cultural phenomenon, but will this film live up to the expectations of legions of Rent fans?

Director Chris Columbus has been known to (much to the delight of Harry Potter fans) bring faithful literary adaptations to the big screen, so it wouldn't be a suprise if he stays true to Jonathan Larson's popular musical. There are also many members of the original Broadway cast returning to play the roles they brought to life on stage.
