Milla Jovovich and Kevin Kline will star in the upcoming drama "Welcome to America", directed by the German Marco Kreuzpaintner. They will join Cesar Ramos and Paulina Gayton. The movie was developed by Roland Emmerich ("Independence Day") and producer Rosilyn Heller ("American Heart") with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Jose Rivera ("The Motorcycle Diaries").

According to THR the movie based on the New York Times Magazine's January 2003 cover story about sex slavery titled "The Girls Next Door", by Peter Landesman, will star Kline as a Texas cop who finds out that he may have had a daughter who was trafficked some years ago.

In the course of his investigation, he meets a young boy (Ramos) from Mexico City whose 13-year-old sister (Gayton) has been kidnapped. They go on a quest to save the Mexican girl, who is befriended by a young Russian woman (Jovovich), who thinks she is coming to the U.S. to become a nanny, but is instead enslaved in Mexico.

The film is scheduled to start filming in Mexico City in late November and will be released by Lions Gate Films in North America.
