Hurwitz and Schlossbergs next projects

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg sat down with Joblo and talked about what they had next on their plate.

"Well, we have several projects in the works. We have The Wingman going at Newline. That’s an original of ours about a guy who can hook any guy up with any girl at a bar and does this for a living. He’s the ultimate wingman. John Whitesell signed on to direct last week, so we’re currently moving on to the casting phase. We did a page one rewrite for MGM recently on a spoof of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, currently titled Harry Trotter: Lord of the Balls. We absolutely love the work we did on this script and hope it’ll be the next Space Balls. MGM is working aggressively to put that movie together as soon as possible.

We are currently writing the sequel to Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, entitled Harold & Kumar Go To Amsterdam. Getting that first movie made was a dream come true. Working on the sequel is even more surreal. After that, we’re writing another original for Senator called The Gym Teacher. It’s about a guy who was the big popular asshole in his high school growing up, but whose life goes downhill in the years after. That is until his old high school football coach offers him the opportunity to be the new gym teacher at his old high school. We absolutely love all the ideas we have for this movie and this may be the first film we direct.

We also just made our first producing deal on a project written by a very talented writer and one of our best friends, Josh Heald. It’s called Open Bar and we set it up at New Line. Other than that, we’re taking on production rewrites when we have the time and we’re developing a slew of ideas for us to write, produce, and/or direct in the future."
