Director Uwe Boll was kind enough to speak to Tony Tellado, Sci-Fi Talk
host at Gatecon. Taking a break from filming Dungeon Siege, he spoke
about his actors and his other project, the vampire-based, BloodRayne. Both films are video game adaptations which he has done before in his films, House Of The Dead and Alone In The Dark. Mr Boll will be a guest at the Timeless Destinations convention in 2006.
"BloodRayne was shot in
Rumania with Ben Kingsley, Kristanna Loken, Meatloaf and Michael
Madsen., a lot of stars in this move. It’s a really dark vampire movie.
Everyone who like Elektra and Catwoman will be very disappointed
because the movie is way harder and more bloody and disturbing. We
don’t have superheroes. BloodRayne needs blood to survive like in the
video game. Kristanna Loken is really tall, tough, doing the wire work
and action on her own. She picks her parts like this one. That’s the
reason she is in Dungeon Siege as an amazon rope woman. She’s really
classical. She was perfect for the part."
“in Dungeon Siege, I
saw that Farmer (lead character) must be like a real, real strong guy
and character. He goes on his revenge trip but he has to be careful
because his wife is still alive and he wants to get his wife back.
Jason Statham is like a young Clint Eastwood basically. With Statham, I
really believe that he can really wipe out an army. I’m really, really
happy with him. – Uwe Boll
