Writer/director
Douglas Buck told Fangoria some casting news about the remake to
the original 1973 Brian De Palma movie "Sisters", he will do together
with Pressman Films.
“I recently received word from David Cronenberg’s assistant that
David has agreed to take a small part in the film. He will play Dr.
Lucas Bryant, walking down a hallway in old documentary footage,
explaining to the camera why he needs to seperate the mentally troubled
Siamese twins Angelica and Annabella Tristiana.
Buck further said that,
"Sisters is on schedule for production in February 2006. We have
just agreed to terms with Asia Argento to take the dual lead role
originally played by Margot Kidder in the ’73 film. Asia is only
available in February, so we decided to no longer shoot in Montreal
because of the extreme weather."
There also were plans of shooting in New Orleans, but
after the tragedy of hurricane Katrina, the production team
is working on locating an equally gothic and atmospheric city.
In the original movie, Margot Kidder plays a beautiful model
named Danielle who is separated from her Siamese twin, Dominique. When
a hotshot reporter (Jennifer Salt) suspects Dominique of a brutal
murder, she becomes dangerously ensnared in the sisters' insidious
sibling bond.
