Stan Winston Working on The Suffering

THE SUFFERING is being made into a movie by MTV, as the network has aquired the rights, and now the word is that the legendary Stan Winston is on to do the FX. MTV's VP stated in a recent press release:

 "We are very excited to be working hand in hand with Midway to translate this innovative game into an edge-of-your-seat film.
Gaming is such a huge part of the culture for MTV's audience it makes perfect sense for us to work with Midway, Stan Winston and Circle of Confusion on bringing 'The Suffering' to life as a feature film."

MTV Films has acquired film rights to action-horror videogame "The Suffering" from Sumner Redstone-owned Midway Games. MTV is working with Stan Winston and Brian Gilbert from Stan Winston Prods. and Jason Lust and Rick Jacobs from Circle of Confusion on development of "The Suffering" as a feature project.

In "The Suffering", gamers take on the role of Torque, an inmate who must face much more than his own inner demons and the harsh and gritty reality of death row as he fights to escape the unleashing of the penitentiary's gruesome secrets in what amounts to a challenge more terrifying than fighting death itself. The game features ultra-mature content and three distinctly different endings dependent upon how you choose to survive.
