Romero Minutes : Land of the Dead Zombies Dont Run!

Posted by:
It is time for another exciting installment of the George Romero Minutes. Keeping you up to date on the master of zombie genre films and what is going on. All of these answers are direct quotes from Mr. Romero.

First off we discussed running zombies in Land of the Dead in reference to the "evolution" and Romero has now said the following:

My zombies do not run.

Let me just say that although i liked running zombies, it would not fit into Romero's style and I am HAPPY to hear they wont run in Land of the Dead

Mr. Romero also weighed in on the Running zombies in the Dawn of the Dead remake

It's still hard for me to get past the idea that the zombie were running around. They are supposed to be dead and all messed up.  Having said that, it was better than I'd expected it to be. It was a hot action flick, but in my mind that's all it was, an action flick.

Then we move onto the BUB issue. Will there be any new bubs in the Land of the Dead? The Answer from Mr. Romero is.

In Land of the Dead, I'll have uber-Bub and a couple others that make it clear that the zombies are getting it together a little bit. They're still stumbling around, but they are developing a bit and there's more memory.

George was recently asked if he was intending to post the screenplay for 'Land of the Dead' George Romero's response:

This is up to the producers...

Lets hope the producers do the right thing and release the screenplay for us all to enjoy!

As many of you know we have been debating for some time on our website about the Land of the Dead Zombies and the "evolution" of them. Are they fast runners? Can they leap tall buildings? Are they vampires? Romero's response:

They won't be ridiculous... wait and see.

Not a lot of information, but at least we know their wont be any kung-fu fighting zombies. Since that to me is ridiculous.

To finish this off Romero was asked what he thought were the best films recently released and he had a great answer

There were quite a few, 28 Days, for one.

Mr. Romero is my hero, and I think he is a hero to many of the MoviesOnline fans and I am glad he and I BOTH enjoyed 28 days. Look for the next installment of the Romero minutes and MAKE SURE to prepare your pocket books to buy tickets to Land of the Dead! Support Romero, and his work!
