Day of the Dead 2 Official Poster & Updates

A new poster has been sent to us by a staffer working on Day of the Dead 2. This is the final artwork which will be part of the Anchorbay DVD release. They also wanted to let us know that their is alot of bad buzz that is coming out about the movie as a result of a german release of the movie. Here is what they had to say:

Over the past few weeks a version of Day of the Dead 2: Contagium has been  circulating around the internet.  THIS VERSION IS NOT THE ONE BEING RELEASED ON OCTOBER 18th BY ANCHOR BAY.

The copy being illegally circulated and sold on E-Bay (and heavily discussed on message forums) is a German version which was censored and edited by that countries film commission, leaving out 20 minutes of gory zombie footage (Remember: the original George A. Romero Day of the Dead is STILL BANNED in Germany). Additionally, the bootleg does not contain the 30 min behind the scenes footage, nor does it contain the director commentaries.

Moreover, the cover art which is circulating around the web is NOT the official artwork that will be released on Oct 18th.  The official cover art is attached.

I know alot of people have a hard on about Day of the Dead 2 and the fact that George Romero is not involved. George's name as a writing credit also got the hornets stirred up. When I had a chance to ask Romero what he thought of the project he brushed it off. If its not a big deal to him it shouldnt really be a big deal to us, and yes I am a big fan of his. Alot of people are offended its being remade without George, but you need to remember that when film rights get bought, they dont just shelf them.They want to use them and profit from them. My thinking is this. If you are despised by the whole idea, dont buy it. If you are curious buy it, and review it. But dont just slap it off as crap just on the basis of Romero not being involved. You and me would like to see Romero involved, but he is not, so I am going to watch it and review it based on its merits, or downfalls.. whichever they may be.

 Their are some great people working on the project including Jackeline Olivier which you will recall we interviewed some time back. We will possibly be running an interview with the directors of this movie if time permits and we can track them down. Here is the poster.
