Warner Brothers Developing Beowulf

Warner Brothers is developing a film based on the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf.

The eighth-century tale centers on Beowulf of the Geats a knight, who is called to slay Grendel, a monster that is attacking a Danish kingdom.

The poem is known to have been an influence on J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the Matthew Sand will write the script for the film.
