George Clooney's Good Night, and Good Luck opens Sept 23Posted by: DanielThe 43rd annual New York Film Festival will open on September 23rd with the premiere of George Clooney's "Good Night, and Good Luck", a story based on the efforts of newsman Edward R. Murrow to take down Senator Joseph McCarthy. Clooney directed the project, is credited as a co-writer, and acts in the role of Fred Friendly. Among the festival's featured films are Steven Soderbergh's "Bubble" and Neil Jordan's "Breakfast on Pluto". The festival will bring in films from all over the world, including France, Poland, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Czech Republic, Taiwan, and the UK. Tickets are available to the general public starting September 11th at noon, and Film Society members can begin purchasing on August 26th. The festival will run until October 9th, closing with Michael Haneke's french film "Cache" (Hidden).
