Samuel L Jackson is the Afro Samurai

Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to star in and co-produce "Afrosamurai" says The Hollywood Reporter. I'm always looking forward to the next Samuel Jackson film this one is no exception. Not only will this be a feature film but next year Spike TV will carry the animated cartoon of the series which is based on Takashi Okazaki's manga property. The show will than be reverse imported to Japan with Japanese subtitles.

The story centers on No. 2, the Afro Samurai, who travels the road looking for revenge on those who murdered his father in front of him when he was just a boy. His nemesis is No. 1, a three-armed gunman who is the lord of the dark swordsman's road.

Production on the film is slated to begin next year and should be released sometime in 2007. I'm eagerly awaiting this one and will keep you guys in the loop on how the film pans out.
