John Moore directing The Omen 666Posted by:The scoop our lil sistersite Horror-Movies.ca reported about 1 month ago proofed to be absolutely correct. There really is a new Omen movie coming, but it turned out that it won't be a sequel. Variety now reported that John Moore ("Behind Enemy Lines", "Flight of the Phoenix") is directing a remake to the 1976 genre classic directed by Richard Donner. The script, that contemporizes the tale, is written by Dan McDermott. The poject is on a fast track, as 20th Century Fox has set a tentative start date of October 3, 2005. The original movie told the story of the the arrival of the Antichrist in the home of an unsuspecting family. Satan's son has arrived on Earth and he's not about to let human parents get in the way. When U.S. diplomat Robert Thorn's wife Katherine's pregnancy ends in a stillbirth in a Rome hospital, he substitutes another baby, whose mother died. Little Damien thrives, but, at his fifth birthday party, his nanny mysteriously dies. Also Father Brennan expires, after warning Thorn that he has adopted Lucifer's son. Source: Variety
