Lionsgate Inks deal for ThinkFilmPosted by:Lionsgate has teamed up with ThinkFilm to bring us some great indie titles. The three year deal gives lionsgate the rights to all of ThinkFilms theatrical releases. The first of which will be the Aristocrats,MurderBall and Born in Brothels. WE wish them the best of luck The Aristocrats is packed full of controversy and is banned by a few large theatre chains. Made by Paul Provenza and Penn Jillette (of Penn and Teller fame), chronicles over 100 comedians who try to explain what it is about the joke that is so funny. And it's a lot more than that. See, when somebody tells the joke it becomes an extension of themselves. The act that the family does becomes grotesque, offensive, and disgusting as hell. And when each person tells it, the act changes, depending on who is telling it. No two versions of the joke are the same. Very similar (and often truly disturbing) but never the same. The punchline, of course, is after all this horrible, foul, vile acts of human decency, the agent asks "What do you call yourselves?" and the father replies "The Aristocrats."
