New Flick : Crazy Eights

IKOYA Productions is deep into production of a James Koya Jones feature film, "Crazy Eights", starring Gabrielle Anwar (Scent Of A Woman, The Three Musketeers), Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction, The Doors), Traci Lords (Blade, Melrose Place) and George Newbern (Father Of The Bride, Morning Star). In addition to directing the film, Jones co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Paul DeLuca and is Executive Producer along with Executive Producer Rick Whealen.

"Crazy Eights" is a thriller/suspense film that Jones describes as "The Big Chill meets The Ring." The film is shot anamorphic in 35mm, to heighten the suspense and give the movie its own unique look. "When Daniel and I finished the script in October of 2004, we knew we had the right voice and feel for the film. I could see so clearly how I wanted to shoot this film as the script was coming together."

The film is being shot on location in and around the Washington, D.C. area, including a mental institution. The early buzz and momentum for "Crazy Eights" has allowed Jones to sign on to direct "Crazy Eights" star Frank Whaley’s next feature film. A deal to produce three more feature films through Lost Cove Drive, a joint venture film production company between Jones and Whealen, is also in the works.
