This weekend begins the biggest comic convention in the country. Of course, it doesn't limit itself to comics. Lately it's been a good launching ground for Hollywood studios to unleash their big ticket flicks of the next year. Or, as is the case, the next couple of years.

Seriously, I read that there's going to be a huge 18 wheeler promoting the Transformers movie, and that's just announced a big July 4th, 2007 release date! There's also stuff promoting the next Spider-Man adventure, even though nobody is allowed to know anything about the film.

There is also a lot of toys/collectables on display. Most of them licensing the upcoming films. McFarlane has announced a Napoleon Dynamite line of action figures, that will be unveiled to the audience on Saturday. PLUS, a live appearance from Napoleon himself! IDIOT! Tons of screenings, toys, and the occasional comic book. I'm sure Stan Lee will make an appearance!

But I won't. No, unfortunately I will be stuck in Los Angeles, training for a job I hate. Then helping a friend move, in ridiculous triple digit heat. (But it's a dry heat! If i hear one more person say that, so help me God...)

So, I just wanted to tell you all that I DID want to go, but financial burdens prevent me from doing so. Here's hoping next year I can make it there. Or next year I'm promoting my own movie that's going to come out in 2009.

Or God forbid, I have a comic. I know, that's just crazy talk...
