Tucker holding up Rush Hour 3 and Chan's new project

According to an Interview Chackie Chan did with the Associated Press the 3rd part is stuck in neutral because co-star Chris Tucker is making too many demands. Chan calls Tucker a good friend, but questions the status of Tucker to be so demanding.

"He wants too much power. The movie company hasn't obliged. He wants final editing rights and the final look at the movie and so on. He's still a new actor. How many movies has he made? Two movies have already made him very famous and made him a lot of money. He needs to learn slowly."

That doesnt sound too good for the 2nd sequel to be made soon, but Chackie also revealed a bit about a new project with Chinese director Zhang Yimou ("House of Flying Daggers"). The actor didn't say much about the movie, only that it will be "galvanizing" and is set in the 1980s. The idea is Chan's, but Zhang will be working on the script.

"He relies on imagination ... like an arrow flying through water. He has elevated the martial arts genre. I believe he can make any type of movie now."

I really loved "House of Flying Daggers" (my review) and Jackie Chan doing a movie together with Zhang Yimou is very cool news. Two of the biggest Asian stars teaming up for a new film just doesn't sound like a bad idea. Stay tuned, for we will definitely keep you informed.
