Superman 5: Casting Started?

Filming is slated to being in November. Just in the last couple of days it has become official that McG has had his arse kicked off of the project. It is only the 2nd or 3rd time this has been reported and denied. But apparently it is now official.

Shia LaBeouf is quotted as saying:

"I met with McG [the director] today and talked about Jimmy Olsen and who's going to be playing who," LaBeouf, 18, told the newspaper. "The production's so locked down they said I can't even take the script home. I have to go to Warner Brothers to read it and then leave it there."

LaBeouf also talked about the casting as well. Jake Gyllenhaal is no longer in the running for Superman, he said.

 "They're going to go with an unknown McG is trying to lure Scarlett Johansson for Lois Lane and Johnny Depp for Lex Luthor"

Seeing as how McG is now tossed off the project I would take all of the comments by Shia with a grain of salt. Who knows who the new director will have a preference for.
