Emily the Strange coming to cinemas

"Emily the Strange", the comic created by Rob Reger and his company Cosmic Debris Inc., will get a movie adaptation. According to Variety the film mixes live-action with animation and will be done through 20th Century Fox Animation. Famous for her barbed commentary and independent spirit, this rebel-child in black has spawned an Internet and merchandising phenomenon.

What? You don't know Emily? Well, Emily the Strange is 13 years old and one bad kitty. She has long black hair with bangs and she wears big white Mary Jane shoes, a short black dress, black stockings and has ever-present four black cats. She is anti-cool, a subculture of one, and a follower of no one but herself.

She is the anti-hero for the Do It Yourself movement! Her favorite phrase is "Get Lost!", which is both an invitation to travel to unknown places and an instruction to 'take a hike'! No cast or director has been announced so far.
