Keri Russell starring in MI-3

Keri Russell will star in Paramount's Mission: Impossible 3, helmed by director J.J. Abrams, who also created the TV series "Felicity" starring Russell as Felicity Porter. Scarlett Johansson has been a candite for this role before the film was delayed.

The actress will portray a trainee agent mentored by Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Ving Rhames also will reprise his role as Luther Stickel with Michelle Monaghan,Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Philip Seymour Hoffman rounding out the cast.

Filming is set to begin shooting July 18 in Italy and MI-3 is scheduled to be released May 5, 2006.
