Breckin Meyer on Garfield 2

Breckin Meyer, who played Jon, the owner of Garfield, in the first movie told SciFi-Wire that a sequel is in the works. According to earlier news, Tim Hill is set to direct the movie. Meyer also said that Bill Murray will likely do the voice of Garfield again.

"There's a lot of buzz about a sequel for Garfield. it did very well. That surprised me. I don't know if it surprised them. It did very well."

"I hear they will get Bill for the voice. I believe they will get Bill. I hear he's very nice. I still haven't met him. We were in different places during the course of the filming, when he was recording. I'd like to meet him."

Meyer, father of a 2-year-old daughter, said he often gets parents telling him that they have seen Garfield.

"It just came out on DVD, and they tell me they've seen it over and over and over again, because the kids watch it repeatedly. It's constantly in their machine. I'm glad the kids like it and watch it over and over. I hope there's a movie I do that has a bit of shelf life."
