Billy Connolly joins FIDO cast

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Billy Connolly ("The Last Samurai")will star in Adrew Currie's upcoming Zombie-Comedy Fido. He will join Henry Czerny,Carrie-Anne Moss,Peter Stormare, Sonja Bennett and Tim Blake Nelson who already have been announced to play in the film. Filming will begin today in Canada.

Andrew Currie directs from a script he co-wrote with Robert Chomiak and Dennis Heaton. Lions Gate is co-producing and will distribute the film outside of Canada. TVA Films is handling the picture in Canada. Anagram's Blake Corbet and Mary Anne Waterhouse are producing with backing from Telefilm Canada and British Columbia Film.

Fido details the effects of Earth’s passage through a cloud of space dust, which results in the dead arising from their graves. In an attempt to quell the mayhem, a patented "domestication collar" is invented by a company called ZomCom, helping society integrate the zombie hordes, who quickly become "gardeners, milkmen, butlers and even pets.
