Basil Gogos to Attend Rue Morgue Fear Festival

Basil Gogos the undisputed master of the monster portrait and legendary cover artist for Forrest Ackerman’s Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. His portraits – steeped in gloomy shadows and set ablaze with fiery colours – were unlike anything anyone had ever seen before: Chaney’s Phantom, Karloff’s Frankenstein, Lugosi’s Dracula, Chaney Jr.’s Wolf Man and Vincent Price’s Dr. Phibes were suddenly brought to fiery life under Gogos’ masterful colours. A legend in horror, Gogos’ macabre artwork has also recently graced album covers of Rob Zombie (Hellbilly Deluxe), Misfits (Famous Monsters) and Necrophagia (The Divine Art of Torture), among others.
