Return of the King Extended Cut

This year at the annual San Diego Comic-Con they might be playing the extended cut of the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. There is no official word on this but over at TheOneRing.net they got the following scoop:

I hope you are sitting down, because I nearly fell over when I heard. I have a friend who works for Comic Con and they just told me that ROTK:EE will premiere on Friday, July 23rd in the San Diego Convention Center's brand new 6,000 person Rm H.

We'll just have to wait and see if New Line confirms this.
