Chris Romeros Land of the Dead Cannes report

George Romero's website has been updated with a report from his wife Chris, about the 15 minute Land of the Dead screening in Cannes. And it looks like the reaction of the audience was even more positive than we read in the reviews. But read on for yourself. Here are a few clips:

After the Director of the Festival introduced George, he went up on the stage and gave a short thank you speech to all the people who made the film happen. He is so grateful for the opportunity to make the film. Then the first 15 minutes of the film was screened along with a 5 minute trailer showing highlights from the rest of the film. The audience gave George a standing ovation afterwards !

George spent most of the two days there giving interviews to international journalists and then flew back to Toronto on Sunday to begin the mix on the film. He is basically working nonstop to get the film ready for the June 24th opening across the country.

I so can't wait till the movie gets released. Evereything i read, hear and see is very positive. Be sure to check out the movie when it hits cinemas June 24th, 2005.
