Spider Man 2 breaks Records

Sony Pictures just announced that Spider Man 2 brought in $40.5 million in ticket sales. This film breaks the first Spider Man films opening day record of $39.4 million in May, 2002. This film also broke records for opening on a Wednesday. Spider Man debuted in 4,152 theatres. I went to see this movie and I am not surprised. We'll have to wait and see how long the buzz stays in the air for Spider Man. A Chairman at Sony Pictures had this to say..

"We are off to a phenomenal start on what looks to be a magical six days for Spider-Man 2," said Jeff Blake, Vice Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution. "Spider-Man 2 may be the best reviewed film of the year, and now it's clearly being loved by audiences as well. Sam Raimi and the producers and cast have delivered a great film."
