Spider Man 2 Review by 'Goon'

Anyway this time around you really find out what its like to be Peter Parker. You can almost feel the way Peter does when everything around him comes tumbling down. His grades are failing, his friends are distant, and on top of the his Aunt May is having problems. So he makes the decision to quit the spider gig. But for how long?

This is one of those movies that touches you on all levels. The resounding meaning behind this movie is always prevelant. "With Great power, comes great responsibility". Although in some points the movie feels like its preaching to you it works. Its something that our society now really needs to hear. We all need to step and take reponsibilty.

Sam did a great job with this film. It is everything Hulk tried to be. Comic inspired and has that comic look. The humor is there as Sam often delivers in his older films like Army of Darkness. The CGI work that he used blends flawlessly with the action almost to the point where you can hardly notice its there.

The acting is brilliant. The actors in this movie will win awards. I guarantee that. Tobey, Kirsten, Alfred, James and the lady who plays Aunt May all shine throughout the movie. As well as a huge list of big name cameos. Bruce and Ted of course show in the film with some great roles. Everyone in Spider Man 2 delivered performances beyond any film out in the past couple of years.

The action, romance, comedy, and drama all blend seamlessly within each other. The action between Peter, Otto and Harry is amazing. The romance with Peter and MJ is weary and neither of them are sure what it is that draws them together. The comedy is great, one liners throughout the whole movie and reactions from the citizens of NYC are hilarious. There is also a level of drama in this film between the trio of friends Peter, MJ and Harry. Especially Harry and Peter since Harry thinks that Peter knows who killed his father and won't tell him who Spider Man is.

This was a hard review to write. This movie was so beyond what I expected. I was going in wanting to see an acton packed film and I got that and so much more. This movie really speaks to everyone who is having a rough time and needs help. It says never give up. Keep doing what you do best. In the end it will all pay off..

Now I would like to say thanks to the real hero in this film.. Stan Lee. Yes he makes a cameo appearence but thats not what makes this man a hero. He has a great power and that is story telling. He has created some of the most spectacular heros and turned them into cultural icons. Without Stan we would never have this comic communtiy that we have now. So thank you Stan for great comics and great films.
