Emmanuelle Vaugier signs to 'Saw 2'

Vaugier is perhaps best known for memorable guest arcs on such TV shows as Smallville and One Tree Hill. She's also recently completed production on the lead role in House of the Dead 2: Dead Aim, due out from Lions Gate next year, and she'll play the title role in the Sci Fi Channel movie Painkiller Jane.

Saw 2 will be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who co-wrote the original Saw screenplay with James Wan and co-star Leigh Whannel. The film begins production in Toronto on May 5, and is scheduled for release by Lions Gate sometime this fall. Vaugier joins returning actors Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell in the cast.

Saw 2 will begin shooting next month in Toronto. In this one Eric Mason has caught the Jigsaw Killer and must stop the killers game from finishing. Part of the game includes a group of people who are trapped in a house and forced to off one another in nasty ways! You can no doubt expect plenty of twists and turns since it is SAW afterall.

Lions Gate Films and Twisted Pictures, officially announced that Darren Lynn Bousman will direct "Saw 2", the sequel to James Wan's "Saw". Bousman also wrote the original screenplay for the movie, together with Leigh Whannel, the writer/co-star of the original "Saw," and James Wan. As we reported earlier, the movie will be shot in Toronto. The filming is scheduled to begin May 5th, 2005. The movie will be produced Gregg Hoffman, Oren Koules and Mark Burg, and the executive producers are Kames Wan and Leigh Whannel.
