Kung Fu Hustle Stomps the Box Office!

Now some of you may say "What is this guy talking about? Kung Fu Hustle opened up at #20." Well get this it only played in 7 theatres and it made $293,000. If you do the math thats $41,857 per screen. Now thats what I call cleaning house. To give you a perspective of how much that actually is Sahara, which opened at #1, made  $5,865 per screen.

Kung Fu Hustle tells the story of a hapless wanna be gangster, Sing,  that must overcome his inability to wield a knife and demonstrate his mettle in order to become a member of the notorious Axe Gang. The Axe Gang, meanwhile, want to reign supreme by occupying the most coveted territory, which is a sacred street protected by an unlikely cast of characters, many of whom are highly skilled kung fu masters disguised as ordinary people. After several encounters with thugs and a fearsome adversary known as the Beast, Sing overcomes his inadequacy and realizes he is the greatest kung fu master of them all, destined to protect the sacred street.
